Batticaloa Lesson 3-(Innovate and win)

The moment 57 Mtn Div attacked a Tamil Tigers (LTTE) hideout on a tip-off, the local populace which was supportive of the rebels would inform them about the movements of the Indian troops. The rebels would coolly go-to hideout No 2 and the attack was not fruitful. Subsequently, when they attacked Hideout no 4, the rebels would move to Hideout no 3 or 2 or 1 and the Army returned empty-handed. So the GOC-Gen TP changed the strategy and the attacks were simultaneously carried out on the previous hideouts as well. Eg if tip-off was received of Hideout no 4, the attack was planned on Hideout 1,2,3 and 4 simultaneously. Or if tip-off was of Hideout no 10, attacks took place on all the Hideouts 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 at the same time. Soon the rebels started running out of places to hide and were caught/neutralized running from one hideout to others like rats and finding the Army waiting for them. Now the 57 Min Div had the rebels on the run in Batticaloa (as compared to Jaffna/Trincomalee sectors) as they were getting caught or neutralized and surrendered in large numbers. So the Lesson was Innovate and Win…to get ahead of the competition, you need to change tracks…तुम डाल-डाल हम पात-पातWe, at Samcara, follow these principles.
